Employees were lifting the top plate from a stack of finished steel plates using an overhead crane. The plate hooks were inserted and positioned for hoisting. The crane s trolley travel button was pressed. The steel plate began to slide off the stack and contacted an employee below the left knee, pinching the lower left leg between the plate and an adjacent stack of plates. The employee sustained a laceration to the left lower leg.
