An employee was operating a stand-up forklift when he had a seizure, lost consciousness and slumped forward onto the steering handle. This caused the forklift to travel in reverse. The employee's left foot became pinned between the forklift and a trash can, which in turn was pinned against a guardrail post. The employee's left foot was amputated back to the heel.
