On September 24, 2021, an employee was shackling the hind leg of a hog and placing it onto a rail. The employee went to hang the hook on the rail when a pusher came into contact with the hook and began sliding it down the rail. The employee's left index finger got pinched between the pusher and edge of the guard for the shackle rail, resulting in an amputation to the distal tip of the finger.
