On October 6, 2023, an employee was working on a residential roof. To prepare for the coming rain, the employee was laying plastic sheeting over the exposed roof and painting it to indicate where not to step. The employee stepped on the sheeting and fell approximately 13 feet, sustaining three broken vertebrae and a broken rib that required surgery. Fall protection was not worn at the time.
