An employee was on the third rung of a 6-foot step ladder while torquing bolts with a 24-inch torque wrench. The socket slipped off the bolt and the employee lost his balance and fell from the ladder to the dirt field below. The employee landed on his left leg, resulting in a fracture to his left leg between the knee and ankle. The employee was hospitalized.
