An employee was loading the paver machine onto a trailer. There is a small lip on the back end of the trailer near the drop gate. The paver hopped, causing it to turn left and it drove off the trailer. The employee was thrown from the driver's seat to the ground. The paver was still moving and struck him as it fell off the trailer. The employee sustained pain in his legs, knees and hips, a severe laceration to his left knee, lacerations to his hip and left arm, and he could not move his lower body. The employee was hospitalized.
