An employee was hammering in a bar joist while standing on a 10-foot ladder. The hammer slipped out of their hand, causing them to fall off the ladder. While the employee was falling, they grabbed onto metal straps at the top of the ladder. The straps cut their hand, resulting in a laceration to the middle and ring fingers.
