Final narrative
An employee on a material transport barge was working to fasten a strap underneath a 7-inch schedule 40 pipe and used a crane to raise one end of it. When the end of the pipe was raised approximately 18 inches, the crane hook slipped out and the pipe fell onto the employee's right foot, crushing it. The employee sustained fractures to their toes and a metatarsal bone.
