An employee was operating a mini excavator and had the bucket down with one side of the track elevated for the injured employee to loosen dirt on the track. While the excavator operator was spinning the track to remove dirt, the injured employee went to grab a rock and their hand was pulled into and ran through a sprocket. The employee sustained fractures and lacerations to their right hand.
