Final narrative
An employee was approximately 20 feet up in the basket of a boom lift, cutting the trunk of a tree measuring about 30 inches in diameter. A section of the trunk bounced and fell toward the boom that the basket was attached to. The impact knocked the employee into the safety railing. His right side and back struck the railing. He sustained internal injuries to the abdomen and was hospitalized.
