Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to fall hazards:
(a) On or about 07/13/04 while setting up the bumper car ride in Bowman,
ND, an
employee was standing on the railing surrounding the ride and fell
approximately 5 feet
when struck in the mouth by a canopy I-beam support.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to provide enough step ladders for employee use to prevent
employees from
standing on railings.  Secondly, train all employees in the hazards
associated with the
assembling and dismantling of all amusement rides.
