Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Located in the Food STamp Certificiation office there was fungal growth of Penecillum ssp, Mucor ssp, Rhizopus ssp, Fusarium ssp, Aspergillus ssp, Mucos ssp. Employees were exposed to these fungi. Said fungi poses health hazard to employees because of their pathogenic effect. This includes Rhinitis, bronchitis, hypersensitivity response to inhaled particles containing living organism, some symptoms include headaches, mailaise, fever, chills, shortness of breath, wheezing, cough, mucus membrane irritation and inflammation, and muscle aches. Feasible method of abatement is to maintain areas as dry as possible. This includes repairing the roof, mopping water on the floor, cleaning with agents that kill mold and mildew.
