Section 5(a)(1) of the Act:  Each Employer shall furnish to each of his
employees
employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized
hazards that are
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees:
An employee operating an above ground rotary vehicle lift was exposed to
the hazard of
being crushed due to a vehicle falling from same:
Feasible and useful abatement methods for this hazard include, but are not
limited to:
1.  The training of employees who operate different types of vehicle lifts
as to the hazard and
correct operation of each lift they would be using.
2.  Administratively, not allowing the use of vehicle lifts until the
employee has been
properly trained in the operation of same.
3.  Follow the ANSI/ALI B1531-1990 Guidelines for Automotive Lifts-Safety
Requirements
for the Construction, Care and Use.
