Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
(a)  K-Mart (Allegheny Township) Leechburg, PA 15656;
Employees were exposed to fall hazards up to approximately
11 ft.  The employee working on the Donkee Lift elevated
platform was standing on a 2" x 6" positioned across the
top rail sections of the guardrail.  The employee working
on the Heff-T-Herman elevated work platform was standing
on the mid-rail sections of the guardrail.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method
to correct this hazard is for employees to maintain firm footing
on the platform floor.
