Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to multiple injuries from falling hazard when employees are
elevated on platforms when
used with a powered industrial truck:
a)  An employee, maintenance mechanic, was exposed to a fall hazard while
working on a scaffold elevated by a forklift truck.   The scaffold was not
secured
to the lifting carriage and/or forks of the truck.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to use a machine which is specifically intended to hoist personnel and to
required personnel
using such equipment to wear a safety harness.
