Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to electrical shock:
(a) Location - Jobsite:
On 5/16/97, an employee was exposed to electrical shock while climbing an
energized
riser pole #3880 (Mass Electric) with leg gaffs.
Feasible means to correct this hazard would be to:
1.  Address this hazard in writing within the company safety regulations
and procedures.
Develop and implement a company policy on this type of hazard recognition.
2.  Conduct inspection in the field to ensure that employers are complying
with company
policies.
3.  Periodically train/retrain employees in hazard recognition.n
