PRODUCTION SHOP:  ON OR ABOUT MARCH 14, 2001, A WOODWORKER
RECEIVED A SERIOUS AMPUTATION INJURY OF HIS RIGHT HAND AS HE WAS
USING A CASEDEI WOOD SHAPER WITH 6-INCH HIGH CUTTER BLADES.  WOOD
WAS BEING FED FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE MACHINE, I.E., IN THE SAME
DIRECTION THAT THE BLADES WERE SPINNING.
ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS
HAZARD WOULD BE TO USE A MOLDING MACHINE WHERE THE WOOD IS
AUTOMATICALLY FED INTO THE CUTTER HEAD IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION
THAT THE SPINNING BLADES ARE ROTATING.
