Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the establishment - mixing room, second floor; two(2) mixers one model
#FBD-200, serial
#4175; and the other model FBD-200 serial number 3911-A; their limit
switch was out of
service, letting the mixer run free when the employees opened the mixers
doors; exposing the
employees to risk of crushing.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to offer training to the employees and establish a preventive maintenance
when the mixers are
washed.
En el establecimiento - cuarto de mezclado, segundo piso; dos(2)
mezcladoras, una modelo
#FBD-200, numero de serie 4175; y la otra modelo FBD-200, numero de serie
3911-A; el
interruptor de parada estaba fuera de servicio dejando la mezcladora
correr libre cuando los
empleados habian las puertas de las mezcladoras: exponiendo a los
empleados a riesgo de
aplastamiento.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es ofrecer
adiestramiento a los empleados y establecer un mantenimiento preventivo
cuando los mezcladores
sean lavados.res
