Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees.
The automatic sprinkler system designed into the Peterson Bake Klean (gas)
Oven
BK17A to protect the employees in case of oven over-heating and fire was
not
operable in that it had never been connected to a water source.  MEGAVOLT
failed
to insure a safe and healthful work environment by exposing employees to
fire and
fumes related to the unintentional burning of varnish used in this oven.
