a)site-employees were working on the platform of a Genie Extensible Boom
platform lift at fall heights of 28', painting the eaves of a building,
with the lift
parked on a 9.5-10 degree incline. The equipment manufacturer requires the
equipment be operated at a slope of no greater than 4.5 degrees. (ref
ANSI/SIA
A92.2-1990 Section 8.13.2 and page 2 of the operator's manual).
One possible means of abatement is to insure that the aerial lift be used
only
within the manufacturers allowable operating parameters at a slope no
greater
than that recommended by the manufacturer of 4.5 degrees.
