Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck by and/or severe burn hazards: a) Double Nickel Kettle - A steel chain was used to lift a load that was in excess of the manufacturer's recommended weight rating. On or about 06/28/00. NOTE: ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM. See page 2,"Notification of Corrective Action" for instructions. One feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to follow the manufacturer's load rating recommendations for this type of chain.endations
