Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to the hazard of electrical shock during repair and/or maintenance of electrical work: a. At the facility, an employee was exposed to the possible energization of electrical equipment, such as electrical wiring, electrical connections, and other electrical components, during the repair and or maintenance of electrical equipment. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to provide lockout equipment, such as locks and lockout devices, to ensure that the electrical equipment energy source remains isolated from the equipment while repair and/or maintenance proceeds. Abatement verification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.ion

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of electrical shock: a. At the facility, employees were exposed to uncovered, 220 V circuit breaker boxes, with live conductors, exposed metal connections, and other exposed electrical components, during daily activities, including washing hallway walls and floors, where the circuit breaker boxes were located. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to provide covers to the equipment according to NFPA No. 70, Article 110-17(a). Abatement verification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.ion
