Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive injuries due to failure of lifting mechanism from automotive lifts, located at building C-14, auto mechanics workshop. Autolifts, two units, no trademark, no serial number which had not been inspected to ensure reliability of the equipment. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to perform a qualified inspection at least annually in accordance to specifications of automotive lift manufacturer and/or the American National Standard Automotive Lift Institute (ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000; Sec.5; pg.6). b. Recibir lesiones debido a fallas de mecanismo de izar elevador de autos, localizado en edificio C14, taller de mecanica de autos. Elevadores de autos, dos unidades, sin marca, sin numero serie, que no ha sido inspeccionado para asegurar la confiabilidad del equipo. Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible de corregir este riesgo es efectuar una inspeccion cualificada al menos anualmente, en acuerdo a las especificaciones del fabricante del elevador de autos y/o la American National Standard Automotive Lift Institute (ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000; Sec.5; pg.6).
