North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)Facility - manually operated garage side bay (overhead) doors that are in disrepair pose a struck-by hazard when opened. The door can fall out of the tracks and strike personnel opening the doors. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to repair the doors to operational condition. Another method, would be to "board-up" the doors to prevent operation and provide additional structural integrity.

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: (Reference: ANSI/ALI B153.1-1990, paragraph 4.1.11) a)Facility - employees were allowed to use an automotive lift that did not have an automatic mechanical device to hold the lift in the fully extended position. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to repair the automotive lift to a fully operational condition per manufacturers specifications.
