Employer did not train employees in the safe operation of automotive lifts
such as but not limited
to Benwil Lift Model TP7-3, Serial No. 8183. Employer did not establish a
periodic inspection
program nor establish and implement a preventive maintenance program for
these lifts.

"Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to: a) instruct all employees in the safe use and operation of the
automotive lifts and their safety
devices and ensure their routine use; b) establish a periodic inspection
procedure  and c)
establish and implement a preventive maintenance program for the lifts as
recommended by the
manufacturer and American National Standard for Automotive Lifts - Safety
Requirements for
Operation, Inspection and Maintenance ANSI/ALI ALOIM-1994, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1."
