employer did not furnish
a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that are
likely to cause death
or serious harm to employees.  Employees were exposed to the hazard of
falls while riding
up/down in a scissor lift.
Brown's Printing Construction Site
Instance A - A section of guardrail was missing on a self-propelled
elevating work platform. The
employee was working inside of the platform section approximately 17 feet
from grade.
Instance B - Employees were not trained in fall protection regarding
scissor lifts.
A feasible means of abatement would be to provide fall protection in
accordance with the
American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.6-1999 Standard for
Self-Propelled Elevating
Work Platforms and ANSI A92.6 7.6-1999 that describes training
requirements.
