North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) facility -- load tests on the 7 cranes had not been done and test reports were not placed on file where readily available to appointed personnel. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to have all of the cranes load tested and keep the test reports readily available.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to mark the rated load on each side of the monorail.e

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) facility -- monthly inspections of hoist chains witha certification record which includes the date of the inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection and an identifier of the chain which was inspected was not being performed and recorded on the fiveHarrington jib cranes in the shop and the two Harrington hoists on the monorail in the welding assembly area. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to inspect the hoist chains monthly and maintain inspection records.
