Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to an amputation/crushing hazard:
a) Printing Area:
Employer did not provide stable metal carts to move 614 lb. rolls of
plastic film to the printers
thereby exposing them to having the plastic rolls fall on them when the
carts tipped.
Violation occurred on 7/17/2002
"Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to extend the wheels on the carts to make them more stable."
