Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 6/9/03, on 11th Street, employees were exposed to the hazard of being thrown from a powered industrial forklift because the employer did not provide an operator restraint device. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to install a seatbelt to the seat of the forklift. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
