Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to the hazard of being caught by/between the robotics arm of
the B-5 injection
mold machine.
(a)On 11/04/03, employees operating the B-5 injection mold machine in the
auto mode
which uses the robotic arm on the back side of the machine.  The robotic
arm was not
guarded on all sides to prevent any employee from entering the restricted
area during
operation.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to abatement this
hazard is to enclose
the opening to prevent entry into the restricted area of the robotics
arm.tics
