Section (5)(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970; The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards which were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to amputations and lacerations where the emergency stop cables on conveyors were loose: a) On June 30, 2004, and at times prior, employees involved in batch plant operations and servicing were exposed to injuries where the emergency stop cables on the conveyors were loose in the following locations: 1.On the lower conveyor in the tunnel building; 2.On the upper conveyor from the tunnel building to the scale house; 3.On the conveyor in the bottom of the scale house. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is not required for this item.
