Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The
employer did not
furnish emplyment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees:
Employees were exposed to Heat exhaustion and heat stroke due to high
temperatures
meanwhile they were doing their tasks. At the Platos Puertorican Cuisine &
Bar
kitchen area, it was observed the following:
a) At the hot line area the employee was exposed to 105.5F temperature. The
sampling was performed for 120 minutes on June 11,2005. The equipment used
to
these temperatures survey was the heat stress meter(Bar Code S12007, MFR
QUE,
Model No. Questemp, Serial No.JU5100024.)
Among another methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is
provide a
ventilation system that can adjust to the measures, conditions and
necessities
of the
workplace.
Seccion 6(a) de la ley de Seguridad y Salud en el trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo un lugar de trabajo libre de riesgos reconocidos que puedan causar
muerte o dano
fisico a los empleados:
Empleados expuestos a agotamiento por calor y a insolacion debido a las
altas
temperaturasregistradas mientras realizaban sus tareas. En el retaurante
Platos
Puertorican Cuisine & Bar en el area de la cocina, donde los empleados
realizaban
sus tareas se observo lo siguiente:
a) En el area de la linea caliente. un empleado estuvo expuesto a una
temperatura de
105.5F. El estudio se realizo por un periodo de 120 minutos, el dia 11 de
junio 2005.
El equipo utilizado en este muestreo de temperatura fue el heat stress
meter (Codigo
de barra S12007, Mfr. QUE, modelo No. Questemp, No. de Serie JU5100024).
Entre otros metodos de correcion, uno factible y acceptable, es proveer un
sistema de
ventilacion que se ajuste a las medidas, condiciones y necesidades de ese
lugar de trabajo.
