Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a)At Discount Food Distributor, Inc. dba Supermercado Pitusa - The employer did not provide a ergonomic general training and heavy lifting to the employees when they were affected about lower back injuries. The employees lift heavy weights. Hazard: low back injury among others. Among other correction method one feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard is provide adequate training to the employees about heavy lifting, how to identify ergonomic risk factor, policies and procedure for avoiding injury, among others. a)En Discount Food Distributor, Inc. hnc Supermercado Pitusa - El patrono no proveyo un adiestramiento general de ergonomia y levantamiento de peso a sus empleados cuando estos han sufrido lesiones de espalda baja. Los empleados levantaban objetos pesados. Riesgo: lesiones de espalda baja entre otros." Entre otros metodos de correccion un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es adiestrar a los empleados sobre la manera correcta de levantar peso, como identificar riesgos ergonomicos, politicas y procedimientos para eliminar o minimizar riesgos entre otros."
