Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/14/05 Location:Lot #7 Condition:Employees were exposed to being crushed/struck by collapsing roof trusses that were tied together using 2 inch by 4 inch spacer blocks installed between the trusses to secure one truss to another, but provided no stability against collapse of the structure. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install temporary bracing on metal plate connected wood trusses in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, or "Building Component Safety Information BCSI 1-03 Guide To Good Practice for Handling, Installing, & Bracing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses". Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
