Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that on or about March
23, 2007, and at times prior there to at a workplace located at 1818
Corsicana St., Dallas, Texas
75202, employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck-by and
caught-between the rear
of the rotating superstructure of a Watson, model 2500, truck-mounted
drill rig.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement
includes but is not
limited to barricading the accessible area(s) within the swing radius of
the rear of the rotating
superstructure of drilling rig.
