Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment free from a hazard that had
the potential of
causing death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to the
condition(s) listed below:
a)  On 7/16/06, at the plant location, employees were exposed to the
possibility of being crushed
by a roll of fabric or being caught between it and adjacent fixed objects
while performing the
following tasks:
1)  Employees engaged in cleaning lint, spindles or other objects from
underneath the
loom takeup rollers and;
2)  Employees engaged in correcting wraps of fabric which had been rolled
improperly
on the takeup roller.
One possible means of abatement would be to install guards or guides on
the rolls to prevent
them from rolling off the takeup rollers and to train employees on safe
methods
of performing
this operation.
