Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from
recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious
physical harm to
employees in that employees were exposed to fractures and crushing
injuries due to an
overhead bay door in need of repair.
In the service area the overhead bay door facing south needs repair.  The
button on the
control panel must remain pressed by the operator until the door is
completely raised.  If the
button is released before the door reaches the top, the door falls
approximately 15 feet to the
ground.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to replace the main spring that lifts and holds the door in place.
