automotive lift
inspection and maintenance.
(a)DSNC, Inc & 1828 E. Mulberry, Unit D, Fort Collins CO 80525: On or
before April 9, 2007, the employer had not developed and implemented an
inspection and maintenance program for the Challenger automotive lift model
# 15002 and the Ben Pearson Tubemaster lift. The condition exposed
employees to possible crushing injuries due to the potential for lift
failure.
Among other optional methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method
to corect this
hazard is to follow section 5.1, Periodic Qualified Inspection Procedures
listed in the
American National Standards Institute/Automotive Lift Institute
ALOIM-2000, "Safety
Requirements for Operation, Inspection, and Maintenance."
Abatement Note: Paragraph 6.1.2 in the American National Standards
Institute/Automotive
Lift Institute publication number ALOIM-2000, lists the minimum
requirements a
preventative maintenance technician must possess prior to performing
preventative
maintenance on automotive lifts.
