of the latch on a hook for an overhead crane, Ref para 10-1.1.2(b) and para 10-1.2.1.2(c)(4), ASME B30.10-1993: a)site-the clevis hook of a crane rated at 2 tons and used to lift I beams into position for work was missing the latch to prevent the load from sliding off. One feasible means of abatement is to install the proper latch on the hook.
