Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer
did not
furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment
which were free
from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm
to employees in that employees were exposed to:
On or about July 31, 2008 an employee was exposed to injury when using a
crane to lift
parts to a press because the crane was not marked with its rated load.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to
perform operational and load testing and mark the crane with its load
capacity meeting the
requirements od ASME B30.11-2004, American Society of Mechanical Engineers
Safety
Standard for Monorails and Underhung Cranes.
***Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with
the requirements of
29 CFR 1903.19(c)***
