Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
In Novus Inc HNC Wild Pair in the warehouse area, was observed a metal
stair with
hollows in the steps such was covered by pieces of wood. The pieces of
wood
used to
cover the hollows in the steps were broken and the stair was used by
employees who
used heel shoes to look for merchandise like footwear for the sale. The
employees have
has slides and falls because the wood that covered the steps was broken.
Hazard:Slips and falls.
Among other methods, a feasible and aceptable method to correct this
hazard is, to
replace the broken pieces of wood in the steps of the stair.
En Novus Inc. HNC Wild Pair en el area del almacen, se observo una
escalera de metal
con huecos en los escalones, los mismos estaban cubiertos por pedazos de
madera. Los
pedazos de madera utilizados para cubrir los huecos en los escalones
estaban rotos y la
escalera era utilizada por empleadas las cuales usaban zapatos de tacon
para buscar
mercancia para la venta. Las empleadas han tenido resbalones y caidas
debido a que la
madera que cubria los escalones estaba rota.
Riesgo:Resbalones y caidas.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es,
remplazar los pedazos rotos de madera en los escalones de la escalera.
