Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard from improperly installed clips: On July 31, 2007, and other times prior thereto, at this well site, employees were allowed to work in and around rig guy lines where Crosby clips were not properly installed and adequately secured, exposing employees to being unexpectedly struck by wire ropes. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard would be to install Crosby clips in accordance with the manufacturer-provided instructions.
