Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to crushing and hazards: Jobsite: An employee was operating an eXmark 60 inch riding lawnmower on a sloped hill greater than 15 degrees, contrary to owner manual guidelines. The employee was injured in an accident that resulted directly from this practice. One feasible means of abatement would be to use a walk behind lawnmower with a kill switch for steep slopes and instruct employees they must always remain on the uphill side of the mower. Abatement documentation is requiredation
