furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm,
including severe burns,
to employees in that employees were exposed to dust explosion,
deflagration, or other fire
hazards from a dust collector being located inside the building and
collecting combustible
dust:
a) Bagging operations, a Premier Pneumatics Inc., bin vent dust collector
was
used to collect combustible starch dust from an auger conveyor screening
and
transfer station.  The unit was located indoors and was not protected by an
explosion suppression system, on or about June 21, 2012.
"ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED"
Abatement notes: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable
abatement method to
correct this hazard includes following NFPA 61, Standard for the
Prevention of Fire and
Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities, 2008
Edition, including but
not limited to:
Locate the dust collection system outside the building or provide it with
explosion
suppression per NFPA 69 Standard for Explosion Prevention Systems.
