Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing, or likely to cause, death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire and explosion: At this worksite, the auxiliary escape line was not installed. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method involves the employer ensuring the emergency escape line system in installed in accordance with American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice 54 (3rd Edition; August 1999, Reaffirmed March 2007) Section 6, Sub-Section 6.10, Paragraph 6.10.1.
