Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:12/13/12 Location:Single Family Residential Townhouse Lot 19 Condition:Roof trusses were not properly braced in the top cord, web member, and bottom cord. Short pieces of lumber, "spacers", were used between adjacent trusses to hold them together, which is not permitted. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to comply with the manufacturer's recommendation on how to properly brace roof trusses or follow the Truss Plate Institute BCSI 1-03 Summary Sheet. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
