29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v):  A body belt with lanyard attached to the boom or basket was not worn by employee(s) working from an aerial lift:    (a)  Platinum Sign Company Inc at 2050 North Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501:  On December 8, 2011, an employee working on a sign at a commercial business from the basket of an aerial lift and was not wearing fall protection. This hazard exposed the employee to a fall of approximately 25 feet.    Abatement Note:  A personal fall arrest system is recommended with lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. As of January 1, 1998, Subpart M of the 29 CFR 1926 part 1926.502(d) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated under 1926.502(e).
