29 CFR 1910.94(c)(3)(iii)(a):     Overspray filters were not installed in spray booths and spray rooms and maintained in accordance with the requirements of Section 1910.107(b)(5), and be in a location easily accessible for inspection, cleaning, or replacement.     ****************************************    a)  Spray Room:  An overspray filter had not been installed at the entrance face of the exhaust system to prevent the motor and the fan blades from accumulating flammable paint particulate.     ***************************************************************    b)  Prep Room (Adjacent to the Bead Blaster):  The Prep Room was being used for the frequent spray painting of primers and topcoats out of spray cans.  An overspray filter had not been installed at the entrance face of the window exhaust fan to prevent the motor and the fan blades from accumulating flammable paint particulate.

The violations listed below are grouped together as a single violation because they are closely related in the type of hazard they describe and increase the chance of an accident occurring.  **********************************    29 CFR 1910.107(c)(6):     Electrical wiring, motors, and other equipment within twenty (20) feet of any spray area, and not separated therefrom by partitions, produced sparks under normal operating conditions and did not otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations:           ***********************************************    a)  Prep Room (Adjacent to the Bead Blaster):  The Prep Room was being used for the frequent spray painting of primers and topcoats out of spray cans.  The electric switch for the motor powering the window exhaust fan was within 4 feet of the spray painting and was of the general duty type.  The switch was not conforming to electrical equipment suitable for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations.

29 CFR 1910.107(d)(5):     Electric motor(s) driving exhaust fan(s) for spray areas were located inside the duct(s):    a) Prep Room (Adjacent to the Bead Blaster):  The Prep Room was being used for the frequent spray painting of primers and topcoats from spray cans.  The electric motor driving the exhaust fan was located directly inside the window frame which served as the duct for the spray exhausts.    **************************************************    b)  Spray Room:   The electric motor for the fan was enclosed inside the ductwork for the exhaust system.
