OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: a) On or about June 25, 2012 and at times prior, the employer had not established an periodic inspection program for all of their auto lifts (older drive-on rack lifts) at the facility. There was no evidence that all of the lifts had been inspected or any record of such inspection by a qualified inspector. Abatement Note: One feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to follow the requirements of ANSI/ALI/ALOIM-2008 "Standard for Automotive Lifts Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection and Maintenance" to establish an inspection and maintenance program for all of the lifts at the faciility.

This created a slip and fall hazard to employees working in the area.
