The violations listed below are grouped together as a single violation because they describe different aspects of a particular hazard which may increase the potential for occupational illness resulting from exposure to a toxic material.  ******************************    29 CFR 1910.132 (d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).      ************************************    a).  The employer did not perform a workplace assessment during the introduction of Morado wood into the operations in the Saw Room and the Finishing Dept. This assessment would have evaluated the contact dermatitis hazard posed by the wood particulates and assessed the need for personal protective equipment.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h):     Employees were not provided effective information and training as specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1) and (2) on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard was introduced:       *****************    a)  Saw Room:   Employees were not provided with training on the hazards of exposure to and contact with Morado wood particulate when it was introduced into the production process.      *********************************    b)  Finishing Department:  Employees were not provided with training on the hazards of exposure to and contact with Morado wood particulate when it was introduced into the production process.     ****************************    c)  Grinding Dept., Dept 200:  The operators of the Nicholas Wet Bevelers and the Tumbler were not provided training on the hazards of exposure to beryllium particulate.      **************************    d)  Press Room, Dept. 100:   The Operator of the Trumph Laser Cutting Machine was not provided training on the hazards of exposure to hexavalent chromium.
